Prop firm rules

Two limits, and only one of them is automated here

Nearly every funded programme measures a daily loss and a total loss. TheConnector enforces the daily one, inside the robot, on your own terminal — so it works on a position opened yesterday and even when no alert arrives. It does not enforce the total one today, and you should size your automation knowing that.

Daily limit in percent or in account currency, enforced inside the robot Measured on equity, so a floating loss counts before it is realised Deposits and withdrawals are neutralised, so a payout does not read as a loss No overall drawdown limit today — stated here rather than discovered on a breach

What happens when the daily limit is reached

The robot closes the positions of that account and refuses every new entry for the rest of the trading day. Closing, cancelling and break-even commands keep working, so you are never locked out of your own positions, and the block clears by itself at the next trading day. Recovery baskets are blocked too — the limit is not bypassed by another feature.

The flatten covers everything on that account, including positions opened by hand

Never the positions of another account sharing the same terminal

Rejected entries carry an explicit reason, visible in your order history

Why the reference balance is the hard part

A daily limit is only as good as the number it compares against. Tools that snapshot the balance when they start forget every loss already booked that day the moment you restart your terminal — which is exactly when a funded account can least afford it. TheConnector rebuilds the day-start balance from your account history: current balance, minus the day's realised result, minus the day's cash movements.

A restart at midday keeps the morning's losses inside the limit

A payout does not fabricate a loss, and a top-up does not silently widen your allowance

The comparison uses equity, so an open losing position already moves you toward the limit

What TheConnector does not do for you

There is no overall or total drawdown limit today: the protection is daily only. There is also no per-programme preset — you enter your own threshold rather than picking a firm from a list. And no tool can guarantee a rule is respected: a gap through your level, a broker outage or a platform that will not accept a closing order are outside anything running on your terminal. Read your programme's own rules; they are the ones that count.

Daily only: no overall drawdown limit, and no per-firm preset

No execution guarantee: the fill on a closing order still depends on your broker and the market

Test it on a demo account before a funded one — the setting is per account

अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्न।

Does it enforce my prop firm's overall drawdown?
No, not today. The protection is daily only. If your programme's binding constraint is the overall limit, this does not cover it — and we would rather you read that here than find out at the moment it matters.
Is there a preset for FTMO, FundedNext or The5ers?
No. You enter your own threshold, in percent or in your account currency. Those are third-party programmes with no connection to TheConnector, and their rules change — a preset carrying a stale number would be worse than no preset at all. Take the figure from your own programme's terms.
Does it work when no alert arrives?
Yes, and that is the point of running it inside the robot. A server-side filter can only refuse an incoming signal; it cannot close a position you already hold. Here the check runs on your terminal, so it acts on a position opened yesterday, or opened by hand, whether or not anything arrives.
Which plans include it?
All of them, including the free Basic tier, on MT4, MT5 and cTrader. A capital protection behind a paywall would protect the wrong people.
